About this performance

Experience a summer symphony under the skies at Wyndham Park this January.

MSO Principal Conductor in Residence Benjamin Northey conducts excerpts and short works from much-loved music, including familiar tunes from Aaron Copland, Astor Piazzolla and Johann Strauss II, plus contemporary classics, in a relaxed family-friendly concert at Wyndham Park in Werribee City Centre.

At the musical heart of Summer Symphony is an initiative built on genuine collaboration with artists drawn from each of the local communities. Four dynamic and diverse artists from Melbourne’s west - Ag Johnson, ELAURA, Nomad and HVSH – will share the stage with the MSO for a collaborative performance, in partnership with GRID Series.

Whether you’re a lover of orchestras or brand new to classical music, these concerts will be a fun and engaging way to experience the magic of the MSO live in concert.

Explore Werribee City Centre’s cafes and restaurants, with dine-in, takeaway and hampers available or bring along your own picnic to be enjoyed safely with friends and family.

What a way to start the new year, with some of the country’s most talented musicians and a twilight picnic in the beautiful surrounds of Wyndham Park!

This is a free, all-ages event but bookings are necessary.

GRID Series serves as a link between industry and historically ignored and under resourced communities, collaborating to develop ideal environments for artists to thrive. Committed to visibility and storytelling through uninhibited and original music, art, words and film making—GRID Series commits to high production values, and supports innovative, community-based leadership.
